Inserting Illustrations and Text Boxes in MS Word

2️⃣ Insert a Picture
Steps:
Open Microsoft Word
Click Insert tab
Select Pictures
Choose:
This Device (from computer)
Online Pictures
Select image → Click Insert
✏️ Resize Picture
Click on picture
Drag corner handles
3️⃣ Insert Shapes (Graphic Elements)
Steps:
Go to Insert → Shapes
Choose a shape (rectangle, arrow, circle)
Click and drag on document
Examples of Shapes:
Rectangle – headings
Arrow – flow direction
Circle – key points
4️⃣ Add Text to Graphic Elements (Shapes)
Steps:
Right-click on the shape
Click Add Text
Type required text
📌 You can also double-click inside the shape to type.
5️⃣ Insert a Text Box
Text boxes are used to highlight important information.
Steps:
Go to Insert → Text Box
Choose a built-in style

Click Draw Text Box
Drag mouse and type text
